Key performance indicators, or KPIs, are quantitative metrics used by companies to measure and assess performance or progress against business goals.
Usually companies tend to track KPIs that they consider to be mission-critical for the company’s overall performance. This may include financial metrics, such as sales or benefit goals, consumer metrics, such as new user growth rate, and metrics for the supply chain, such as delivery time.
Simply put, KPIs help an organization understand how it performs in the areas that are most important to its performance.
